Motorola comes with new 5 MP camera phone.
Motorola ZINE ZN5 (also called the MOTOZINE). Motorola ZINE ZN5 can upload pictures directly to the Kodak gallery through the handset's data connection. The ZN5 also supports bluetooth printing to compatible devices. Screen size of phone is 240x320 pixels.

85 million mobile phones were shipped in India in last financial year

According to IDC's Asia/Pacific Quarterly Mobile Phone Tracker, Q1 2008, June 2008 release, close to 85 million mobile phones were shipped in India between April 2007 and March 2008, compared to just under 66 million units shipped over the equivalent period a year ago. This was a record and amounts to a year-on-year growth of around 29% in terms of units. Shipments in JFM 2008 stood at more than 22 million handsets. Overall, Nokia retained the top spot with a market share of 52.8%, followed by LG at 10.2%, and Samsung at 8.3% in terms of units shipped during the quarter ended March 31, 2008.

UIQ Announce Plans To Layoff 200 Employees

Thanks to God, I don’t work for UIQ.

Symbian, UI company UIQ have announced plans to layoff of 200 employees (reports BLT.se). Currently the majority of the 375 staff are employed in the Ronneby offices, with the balance of staff in two foreign offices in London and Budapest. These offices will probably close. Further details will be announced by UIQ this afternoon.

Nokia to buys Symbian

Nokia announced they'll be acquiring the remaining shares of Symbian. Nokia will pay $410 million for the remaining shares of Symbian and make its software royalty-free to other phone makers.
