Following are Apple 3G iphone drawback. Just check that draw before you purchase 3G iphone.

• Camera

Apple 3G iphone has a 2 megapixel camera but you CANNOT record video clips.

• Internet

Apple Safari does not support FLASH, which is used on tons and tons of websites out there.

• Instant Messaging

The 3G iPhone does not support INSTANT MESSAGING.

• BLUETOOTH HEADSETS

3G iPhone does not support stereo Music Streaming through Bluetooth headsets. you can only answer iPhone calls wirelessly with this Bluetooth headset.

• 3RD Party software

CANNOT LOAD YOUR OWN 3RD PARTY PROGRAMS. On iphone 3G you can load approved applications may be released by Apple & they will charge fees for that.

• Battery

iPhone DOES NOT HAVE A REMOVEABLE BATTERY & expected life is 300-400 charges after that you have visit apple store to replace the Battery every Year OR Two like ipod. Offcource they will charge you for Battery.

• Games

You can not play games on appple iphone because it does not have any GAMES.

• CUSTOMIZE RINGTONES

You can not CUSTOMIZE YOUR RINGTONES WITH MP3 SONGS.

• VOICE COMMANDS

You can not use Voice COMMANDS OR Voice RECOGNITION OR Voice DIALING.

• MESSAGING

The keyboard supposedly isn’t a real bother after you get used to it, but TYPING PERIODS AND COMMAS ARE A PAIN IN THE NECK, requiring you to go to a 2nd screen each time. Given that you use a period or comma in almost every sentence you type, this is NOT CONVENIENT.

• MMS

You canot SEND PICS TO OTHER CELL PHONES VIA MMS PICTURE MESSAGING.

• Donload iTUNES

You cannot download OR access iTUNES directly from the iPhone, you always have to do it through you PC or Mac’s iTunes program and then sync files.

• Modem

You cannot use apple 3G iphone as modem that means you cannot connect iphone 3G to laptop and PC. (New software launch By Netshare for iphone to use as modem but it's not free.)

• Storage

You CANNOT LOAD MORE THAN 8GB and 16GB worth of music, video, audio, documents, contacts, email, etc because there is NO REMOVEABLE STORAGE CARD support.

There is work out for most of the above drawback, My friend has iPhone we able to install 3rd party app, & installed many of above features(as we hve 2-3 years of mobile development experience). But ordinary people will not do all this.

I think in India, Why indians should pay $710 for the iPhone, which is available for $199 in US.

Nokia full touch screen phone by 2008 end

Nokia has confirmed it will launch a full touch screen handset by the end of this year.

"We have been working on the Series 60 platform for touch screen user interface and a mobile device is expected to be launched by the year-end," Devinder Kishore, Nokia India's marketing director, told reporters.

The Nokia full touch screen phone, codenamed the 'Tube' was also featured in the latest Batman movie "The Dark Knight" and will be Nokia's second full touch screen device, the first of which was launched in 2003 but was later discontinued.

The past year has seen cell phone majors such as Samsung and LG debuting their full touch screen mobile phones in the market after the success of the Apple iPhone.

It is widely anticipated that Research in Motion (RIM) - the makers of Blackberry - are also working on a full touch screen phone, codenamed 'Blackberry Thunder'.

Nokia first unveiled the touch screen S60 interface last October.

Vodafone to sell iPhone 3G from $708

Vodafone Essar, India's third-largest mobile operator, will sell Apple's iPhone 3G at 31,000 rupees ($708) for the 8GB model, a senior company official, who could not be named, said on Wednesday,

Vodafone Essar and larger rival Bharti Airtel will start selling the device from Friday.

Vodafone Essar will charge 36,100 rupees ($824) for the 16GB model. The new iPhone sells for as low as $199 in the United States.

A spokesman for Bharti Airtel said the company would announce its price for the iPhone soon.

iPhone 3G to make India debut on Aug 22

The new-generation iPhone will be available in India from August 22. The country’s two largest GSM operators, Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Essar, on Wednesday announced that they will begin selling the new model in select outlets from that date.

The new iPhone features built-in GPS for expanded location-based mobile services and iPhone 2.0 software, which supports Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync and hundreds of third-party applications.

RCom launches GSM services in Delhi

With the launch of GSM service by Anil Ambani group's RCOM in Delhi to become the first company in India to offer both CDMA and GSM services.RCOM has been offering CDMA-based mobile service throughout the country and has recently been allowed by the government to start GSM service simultaneously.

To begin with, the company has offered over 1,000 connections to its employees as part of soft launch and after review RCOM would soon offer services on commercial basis, sources close to the development said.

Asked whether services would be offered in other parts of the country too simultaneously, sources said the company has been rolling out networks in all circles on a war footing and as soon as the network is ready the services would start but no deadline has been fixed for this.

Airtel Live to be pre loaded on Nokia phones

In a bid to drive value-added services (VAS) revenue, Bharti Airtel has initiated talks with leading handset vendors, including Nokia, to embed its VAS application. The company wants to pre-load its Airtel Live platform as an icon in the handsets which the vendors will sell in India. The move is aimed at growing VAS revenue at a significantly higher pace than its overall growth.

Airtel Live is multi-access entertainment portal on the mobile that provides a variety of rich content. At present, consumers can access it by using a GPRS connection in their handset.
